Reverend Dr Michael Long joined the Board of Trustees on July 2020. He is the minister of Notting Hill Methodist Church in West London, very close to the site of the Grenfell Tower fire which claimed 72 lives in 2017. He has served in a variety of appointments in London, Surrey and North Wales for 30 years and as a circuit superintendent for many of those.

He chaired Shelter’s commission on Social Housing which published its report in 2019, and serves on the national church’s Faith and Order Committee. His research interests include theological reflection on a range of social and political issues, particularly housing, money and the church’s ministry in traumatised and marginalised communities.

He has wide experience of charity governance serving as a school governor and the boards of a seamen’s mission and Citizens Advice Bureau.
