How Nationwide is supporting vulnerable children and families this Christmas

We’re delighted to share that Nationwide Building Society is returning as the Headline Partner for our Secret Santa appeal. Here’s how they’re continuing to support our mission.
Our three-year partnership with Nationwide Building Society, through Nationwide Fairer Futures, is helping more vulnerable children and families across the UK.
Together, we're providing a vital lifeline to tens of thousands of vulnerable children, young people and families.
Since 2024, Nationwide Fairer Futures has funded Action for Children's Family Fund and Family Clubs. These programmes give families access to essential items to live, opportunities to thrive, and a strong support network.
During our first year of the partnership, an incredible £3.48 million was donated and raised by Nationwide Building Society and together, we supported 36,833 children, young people and parents.
Family Fund
The Family Fund provides families with immediate support with everyday essentials, such as food, clothing, household items and bills.
And children have access to activities and experiences that they’d otherwise go without - a trip to the zoo, school trips, or a birthday cake.
Family Clubs
Family Clubs provide families with a safe and welcoming space in local communities, where they can eat, seek warmth, while also building supportive relationships with other families.
In up to 30 locations across the UK, Family Clubs give children activities to help grow their confidence and feel fulfilled. And parents receive expert, tailored support to help with financial hardship, mental health issues and isolation.
Tackling child poverty
Throughout our partnership, Nationwide colleagues and customers also make a meaningful contribution by joining campaigns, raising money and volunteering.
Last year, through customer and colleague efforts, Nationwide Building Society contributed enormously to our Secret Santa Christmas appeal - through sponsorship, fundraising, and donations.
As our Headline Partner once again this year, Nationwide is helping us make a real difference this Christmas. We're excited about what we can achieve together - and grateful for the many meaningful ways they continue to support our appeal.
1. Promoting Secret Santa in Nationwide branches.
If you visit your local Nationwide branch in December, look out for our Secret Santa campaign!
To donate, find the poster in branch and scan the QR code with your phone. Your donation could help bring Christmas magic to a child who needs it.
2. Staff members are joining in with the festive celebrations.
Nationwide staff from over 600 branches across the UK are rallying behind our Secret Santa campaign - all to raise vital funds for vulnerable children and families.
On 9th December, staff members will be rocking their best Christmas jumper on Knit-mas day. While in Swindon, colleagues will be putting their knowledge to the test in The Big Nationwide Quiz of the year.
3. Donation Stations in the Nationwide offices.
Festive donation stations will be set up across Nationwide's major office locations, featuring Christmas trees decorated with donation baubles to inspire staff to give generously.
