Action for Children provide a range of services across Northern Ireland which are called Family Support. These services work with families when they need a bit of extra help.
We provide practical support like supporting parents to provide age appropriate routines to help children develop a bed time, homework, or getting out to school routine.
We provide emotional support for families who are dealing with stress in their lives like family breakdown, challenging behaviours, health including mental health problems and those exacerbated by low income or poverty.
We provide a range of services through our five Sure Start services for children under 5, family centres for all the family, parenting programmes to help parents with how to tackle difficult or testing circumstances, specific support to families with older young people and intensive support.
Our Family Support hubs work with others to ensure that families are able to get the sort of help they need when they need it.
Families are important and supporting them to provide for their children at times of stress can help them continue to be a good place to enable children to develop, learn and play.
