Keeping Children in Safe and Loving Homes

Keeping Children in Safe and Loving Homes

Too many children grow up with their lives overshadowed by abuse and neglect

We are concerned that opportunities to intervene early are being missed for thousands of children at risk of abuse or neglect. Vital family support services for problems like domestic violence provide help that can stop problems spiralling out of control, and prevent the need for statutory services later on. However, years of austerity and budget cuts mean that often, these essential support services are no longer available.

Our work on the ground through our services, policy and research

We support families at risk of neglect through community projects and services. We lobby governments, work collaboratively with stakeholders and commission research. We have heard from than 18,000 children, young people, parents and professionals.

But much more needs to happen. It is time for Government to take a lead and ensure that any child who needs help, gets help.

"Sometimes no-one believes you. No-one comes to your house to see what's going on. So no-one might know or can tell from the outside."
